What has article submissions got to do with SEO? Traditionally, articles are written solely for human readers. For example, a newsletter could be powered by high quality articles. Whenever an article is written and distributed, the subscribers get value from the content.

But today, article submissions has another important role to play. Many marketers have learned that article marketing is a good way to build back links.

When it comes to SEO, there is on-page SEO, and there is off-page optimization.

On-page tweaking is easy because you have full control over your own website. But you can’t really point a weapon at other webmasters and get them to link to your site.

So a good way to build back links is to contribute good content to these sites. In exchange for your expert tips and advice, you are allowed to insert 2 to 3 links in the author resource box.

Note that the links must stay in the author box. They cannot be anywhere else. Different article directories have different linking policies. So be sure to abide by the rules to ensure a higher approval rate.

You don’t need to write perfect articles for your articles to be accepted. Editors understand that since the content is written by humans, they generally accept a small margin of error.
